The owner’s chair, and the builder’s. Kuriri is me, Tash Wong, and one way of working: understand how your business runs, say honestly what it needs, and build the fix beside you when one is worth building.
Aloha, I’m Tash.
I grew up in Kailua, graduated from St. Andrew’s Priory, and spent the first chapters of my career on the continent. Out there, I worked as a product design leader for The New York Times, Meta, and Salesforce, mapping complex systems and building better products. I also built and ran my own business, which is where I learned what it actually takes to design, and survive, day-to-day business processes.
In 2021, having twins in the height of COVID brought my family and me back to Hawaii. Here, we could raise our kids out of the rat race of the Bay Area, and be closer to family.
I started Kuriri to bring the high-level systems thinking I’ve learned back home. My goal is to help Oʻahu’s small business owners untangle their daily operations so they can stop stressing over the messy details and finally get their nights and weekends back.
Outside of work, I run a busy household, work out with friends, and try to make time for a good book. I also try to do my part in the community. I recently joined the governing board of Kaʻōhao public charter school, I’ve mentored young local technologists through Piʻikū, and run Kuriri. To me, they are all ways of working toward the same thing: bringing what I learned away back home, so our kids can have a future here, too.
