In person · Discovery · from $2,000

Before you fix anything, understand how the work moves.

Discovery is where we map the system your business runs on, together: where work stalls, what it’s costing you, and the right fix. You end up with a map you can act on, with my help or without it.

Not one task. The way the work moves between them.

The First Build fixes one task. Discovery is for when the business has grown faster than its systems, and the strain shows up in the seams:

  • Things fall through the cracks: follow-ups, quotes, scheduled jobs that arrive without materials.
  • The same information gets entered more than once, in systems that don’t agree.
  • The answer lives in only one person’s head, and they’re out today.
  • Handoffs between people break: sales, ops, dispatch, and billing each working from their own version of the job.
  • You can’t see what’s happening until it has already gone wrong.
  • New software was supposed to fix it, but it didn’t.

What you get

An operating map

A clear picture of the system your business actually runs on, built from what you and your team show me: the handoffs, the workarounds, the places it stalls. No single app can show you this, because the work moves across all of them.

The real bottlenecks, named

A short list of the few points where a fix changes the most, and what each one is costing you now.

The right fix for each, honestly

Custom software, an off-the-shelf tool, a process change, or nothing new. The recommendation isn’t tied to what I’d get paid to build.

The time the fix was off-the-shelf →

A sequence you can act on

What to do first, what can wait, and what to leave alone. Not a wish list, a sequence: the first fix should make the next one easier or cheaper.

The judgment behind the map

It’s the same work I did at Meta and Salesforce: get the right people in a room, trace a process end to end by hand, and turn it into something a team can build on. That method doesn’t need a big company to work. A service business under fifty people runs on the same tangle of handoffs, and for the person who owns it, the stakes are higher, not lower.

What it costs

Discovery starts at $2,000, scoped to your operation. A two-person shop and a forty-person one aren’t the same engagement, so we size it together on a call rather than from a published menu. Payment can be split across the engagement.

The scoping call is a conversation about your business. A proposal follows from there.

Common questions

Do I have to build with you afterward?

No. The operating map and the recommendations are yours to act on however you like. Plenty of the value is in the clarity itself.

How is this not just “we’ll map your business,” which some offer for free?

Free audits map toward what the vendor can sell you. Discovery is form-agnostic: the honest answer can be to keep what you’ve got. It’s also done with you, by someone who has operated a business.

How long does it take?

Most engagements run two to four weeks, depending on the size and complexity of your operation. We scope that together on the call, and you’ll have a firm timeline before you commit.

What happens after the scoping call?

You get a written proposal: the exact parts of your operation we’ll map, what’s out of scope, the timeline, and the price. Nothing starts until you’ve seen it and agreed.

Should I do the First Build first?

There’s no required order. But it’s the lowest-risk way to find out if Kuriri is the right fit: $250 shows you how I work before you commit to anything deeper.

Start with a scoping call

Tell me how your business runs and where it’s catching. Together we’ll size the right engagement, and I’ll put it in a proposal that spells out what we’ll map and what we’ll leave out.
